Problem

A leading retail distribution company needed real-time data and analytics to drive better decision-making. The retailer had no shortage of data, but their data was siloed, with Excel functioning as the primary intersection point between silos. The retailer engaged Artisan to achieve leadership’s strategic vision of a unified organizational view to support near real-time data-driven decisions.

Warehouse and transportation management data, employee time tracking, order management, customer data; it was all connected. Yet, these vital sources of data lived in eight different systems. Operational analytics could be predictive and prescriptive if performed across data silos.

In order to enable this, Artisan created a single user interface that surfaced data and insights across all eight systems. The new application provides a window into the entire organization and gives business leaders an intuitive way to make strategic decisions. As a result of the new analytics tool, the organization is now has easy access to:

  • Key performance indicators, including fulfillment rates, incident rates, time to resolve, and average cost per product shipped
  • Clean data that provides an accurate and reliable view of suppliers and customers
